Early Life and Education

Andrei Pyshnyi was born on October 26, 1974, in the village of Dobrovody, Ukraine. In 1991, he enrolled in the Faculty of Law at Chernivtsi University, where he met and befriended Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

After graduating in 1996, Pyshnyi remained at the university as a teaching intern and assistant in the Department of Constitutional, Administrative, and Financial Law.

Legal and Business Career

In 1998, Pyshnyi founded and became a co-owner of the law firm "Pravkon" in Chernivtsi. Concurrently, he co-owned the television and radio company "Inter-Chernivtsi" from 1998 to 2005.

Political Career

In May 2007, Pyshnyi was appointed Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (SNBO). However, he was dismissed from this position by President Viktor Yushchenko in June 2009.

In 2010, Pyshnyi joined Yatsenyuk's party project "Front for Change," heading its party control committee. He played a prominent role in the 2012 parliamentary elections, serving as deputy head of the "Batkivshchyna" campaign staff. In December 2012, he became leader of the "Yatsenyuk Group" within the "Batkivshchyna" faction and First Deputy Chairman of the parliamentary committee on regulations.

Banking Career

In 2000, Pyshnyi moved to Kyiv and became head of the Legal Department of Oschadbank, Ukraine's largest state-owned bank. He later rose to the position of Director of Oschadbank's Legal Support Department in 2001.

From 2003 to 2007, Pyshnyi served as First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank. He also held the position of Acting Chairman of Oschadbank from December 2004 to May 2005.

In 2007, Pyshnyi briefly served as First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Ukreximbank. He holds a PhD in Legal Sciences, having defended his dissertation on "The Legal Status of State Banks in Ukraine."

On March 26, 2014, Pyshnyi was appointed Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank. His tenure was extended for another five years in August 2019.

Controversies

In 2015, Pyshnyi faced scrutiny for alleged financial irregularities related to a trip to Warsaw for a football match. The allegations were made by the investigative journalism project "Nashi Groshi."

Personal Life

Pyshnyi is married to Lyudmyla Heorhiivna, a university professor. They have two daughters, Svitlana and Daria.
