Early Life and Youth Career

Maksim Volkov, a Belarusian footballer, was born in Mozyr, Belarus. He started his football journey at SDYUSHOR Mozyr under coach Vyacheslav Shevchik. As a product of the academy, he made his debut with Slavia Mozyr's reserve team in 2005, scoring three goals in 12 appearances.

Move to Dynamo Kyiv

In 2007, Volkov transferred to the renowned Ukrainian club, Dynamo Kyiv. Primarily playing for their reserve team in the Ukrainian First League, he also featured in the Ukrainian Premier Reserve League, scoring seven goals in 16 matches. He became part of the side that won the Ukrainian Super Cup in 2007.

Loan Spells and Return to Ukraine

Volkov's career took a turn in 2009 when he joined Ukrainian Premier League newcomer FC Obolon Kyiv during the first half of the 2009-10 season. The second half of the season saw him move to FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih. After impressing at the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, Volkov extended his contract with Dynamo Kyiv until 2013 and was loaned to FC Karpaty Lviv until the end of 2011.

Return to Belarus

Upon returning to Belarus, Volkov joined FC Neman Grodno on a four-month loan deal in March 2012.

International Career

Volkov represented Belarus at the youth level, winning the Granatkin Memorial in 2007. He earned his senior debut in 2007 during a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying match against Luxembourg. At the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, Volkov's two goals helped Belarus finish as bronze medalists.
