Giacomo Bulgarelli: Legendary Bologna Icon

The Star of Bologna

Giacomo Bulgarelli was born in 1940 in Portonovo di Medicina, Italy. His illustrious football career began in 1959 when he joined Bologna, the club he remained loyal to throughout his 16-year professional career. As a midfielder, Bulgarelli played a crucial role in Bologna's historic 1963/64 Serie A championship triumph.

Domestic and European Glory

Bulgarelli's tenure with Bologna was marked by numerous other accolades. He lifted the Coppa Italia twice, in 1969/70 and 1973/74, establishing himself as one of the club's most celebrated players. His legacy also includes victories in the 1970 Anglo-Italian Cup and the 1961 Mitropa Cup.

International Career

At the international level, Bulgarelli represented Italy in 29 matches, scoring seven goals. Notably, he played in the 1966 FIFA World Cup, scoring twice.
