Power Station
In 1985, Taylor briefly departed Duran Duran to form a side project called Power Station with fellow Duran Duran bassist John Taylor, singer Robert Palmer, and drummer Tony Thompson. The group released one self-titled album in 1985, which peaked at number 6 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Solo Career
Taylor's solo career took off in 1986 when he released his debut album, "Thunder." Despite reaching number 46 on the US Billboard 200, the album failed to sustain its success. Taylor's subsequent solo album, "Dangerous," was released in 1990.
Reunions
In 1996, Taylor reunited with Power Station for their second album, "Living in Fear." He also briefly reconnected with Duran Duran from 2001 to 2006, during which time the band released the album "Astronaut."
