A Canadian's Lucky Lottery Win While Waiting for Pizza
A Canadian woman named Anita Snyder has become a multi-millionaire after purchasing a lottery ticket while waiting for her pizza to be made.
Winning the Jackpot
A resident of Surrey, British Columbia, Snyder had been promised her pizza within 20 minutes. In the meantime, she decided to buy a lottery ticket as a way to pass the time. She stepped into a nearby pharmacy, where she stumbled upon a life-changing discovery.
"The lady [at the London Drugs store at Morgan Crossing] said they had a new full-year subscription package for $30, so I decided to give it a try," Snyder said.
Discovering Her Fortune
Upon returning home, the Canadian checked her ticket using the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) Lotto! App. To her astonishment, all six numbers matched.
"The only reason I checked my ticket was because I had to change purses before I went to work for the afternoon," Snyder explained. "I ran into the family room where my husband was and asked him if he could see if I had won $2 million. I think I was yelling."
Confirmation from BCLC
Snyder even called BCLC to confirm what seemed too good to be true. A representative from BCLC assured her that her winnings were being processed.

Originally from Montreal, Snyder has been living in South Surrey with her husband for the past two decades. The couple plans to travel to Montreal, have a celebratory bottle of champagne, and seriously consider investing in a business.
