In 1950, Robinson signed a contract with Paramount Pictures as a stuntwoman, fulfilling both her father's and her own aspirations. She performed daring equestrian stunts in nine films over the next three and a half years. In 1953, she landed her star-making role as Sylvia van Buren in George Pal's sci-fi classic "War of the Worlds." The film's immense popularity spawned two sequels, a television series (1988-1990), and a third film adaptation by Steven Spielberg in 2005. Robinson reprised her role in the sequels and made a cameo appearance in Spielberg's version.
