Early Life and Education

Anna Maria Anders was born in London in 1950 to General Władysław Anders and Irena Anders. She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Roman Philology at the University of Bristol in 1973. In 1992, she earned an MBA from Boston University.

Career in International Organizations and Business

Anders worked in the Communications Department of UNESCO in Paris before transitioning to roles in the oil and real estate industries.

Political Career

On January 15, 2016, Anders was appointed Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland and Plenipotentiary for International Dialogue. She became a candidate for the Law and Justice party in the 2016 Senate by-election. On March 6, 2016, she won the senate seat with 47.26% of the vote.

From 2016, Anders represented Poland at the Women in Parliaments Global Forum, advocating for increased female participation in politics and gender equality.

Appointment as Ambassador to Italy

In June 2019, Anders resigned as Secretary of State and, in August, relinquished her Senate mandate in preparation for her appointment as Poland's Ambassador to Italy. She was also accredited to San Marino.
