Biography of Anna Minakova

Anna Minakova is a Russian poetess, musician, and artist. She is the daughter of poet Stanislav Minakov and currently resides in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Education:

Anna Minakova completed nine years of education at School No. 54 in Kharkiv. She also attended the Children's School of Arts No. 2 named after P. Tchaikovsky, where she studied special piano under the guidance of L. N. Chernova. From the age of four, she attended the art studio "Sto Fantaziy" under the tutelage of N. V. Kulinish. In 2004, she graduated with honors from the piano department of the B. N. Liatoshinsky Kharkiv Music School, studying under A. D. Samsonik. In 2009, she received a Master of Arts degree with honors from the music department of the I. P. Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv State University of Arts, specializing in piano and organ under the mentorship of N. A. Melnikova, a distinguished artist of Ukraine.

Accomplishments:

Anna Minakova is a laureate of the G. G. Neigauz All-Ukrainian Pianists Competition (2002) and a participant in the programs of the Vladimir Spivakov International Charitable Foundation. Her artwork has been exhibited in the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), the Museum of Contemporary Russian Art (Jersey City, USA), the Russian State Museum of Nature (Moscow), the Central House of Artists (Moscow), and various exhibitions in Kharkiv. She works primarily with small graphic forms, using markers, pencils, gel pens, ink, paper, and collage techniques.

Anna Minakova is the author of books and poetry collections published in various editions in Kharkiv, Moscow, Kiev, Munich, Ottawa, Brussels, Belgorod, Severodonetsk, Vladivostok, New York, and Khabarovsk. Since 2010, she has been a literary co-editor (together with Stanislav Minakov) of the art journal for students, educators, and parents called "Vvedenskaya Storona" (Stara Russa, Russia).

She has participated in international literary festivals such as the International Festival of Poets "Hileya" (Kiev, 2001), the International Youth Festival of Poets "003" under the auspices of the magazines "Arion," "Novaya Yunost," "Novy Mir," and the Moscow government (Chekhov's House, Moscow, 2003), the Chichibabin Festival of Contemporary Poetry (Kharkiv, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009), the "Dvurechie" Festival (Kharkiv, 2004, 2007), the "Kashtanovyi Dom" Festival (Kiev, 2005, 2007), and the Voloshin Festival (Koktebel, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008). Her poems have been translated into Ukrainian by S. Zhadan (in the collection "Hotels of Kharkiv," Folio, 2008).

Anna Minakova also writes prose, which has been published in the journal "Soyuz Pisateley" (2009), the Cherkasy almanac "Pushkinskoe Kol'tso" (2006), the Vladivostok almanac "Sikhoté-Alin'" (2007), the newspaper "Slobodskoi Kray" (2004), and the weekly "Novaya Demokratiya" (2007). She also works as a journalist, publishing articles on classical and contemporary music in periodicals in Ukraine and on the Internet.

Additionally, Anna Minakova occasionally illustrates books and creates self-made books and other artifacts.

- Biography-bibliographical articles have been dedicated to Anna Minakova in S. Chuprinina's book "Zarubezhe. Russkaya Literatura Segodnya" (Moscow, 2008), "Pisateli Kharkova" (Kharkiv, Maydan, 2003), and literary-critical articles in various publications such as "Literaturnaya Gazeta," "Novy Mir," "Znamya," "Dal'niy Vostok," "Moskovskaya Pravda," newspapers "2000," "Pravda Ukrainy," "Zhivoy Zhurnal" (Kiev), and on the Internet.

- Anna Minakova's poems have been written about by A. Dmitriev, I. Evsa, I. Rissenberg, V. Gubailovsky in "Zametki o Poezii" on April 9, 2003, M. Galina, A. Polyakov, Yu. Kabankov, L. Chumakina, G. Starikovsky, I. Skorodinsky in "Yavlenie Anna Minakova virtual'nomu narodu," A. Nitshenko, and others.

- She was awarded the Grand Prix and the Gold Medal at the All-Ukrainian Young Poets Competition named after Leonid Kiselev (Kyiv, 2005).

- She won the 1st prize in the literary competition "Sady Litseya" (Moscow, 2004, "LG," IZhLT) in the poetry category.

- Anna Minakova was named among the "New Names of Ukraine" in the literature category (Kyiv, 2002).

- She was a finalist of the literary competition "Ilya-Prize" (Moscow, 2005).

- Since 2000, she has been a four-time scholarship recipient from the Kharkiv Foundation for the Support of Young Talents in the Literature and Art category.

- She was shortlisted for the 1st International Voloshin Literary Competition (2003).

- She was longlisted for the "Debut" prize of the International Fund "Pokolenie" (2002) in the poetry category.

- She was the winner of the Kharkiv Regional Competition "Youth Leader-2001" in the Writer category.

- She received a special scholarship from the Evgeny Kushnarev Foundation (Kharkiv, 2009) in memory of Evgeny Kushnarev.
