Early Life and Education

Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Hanna Novosad showed an early aptitude for languages and international relations. In 2007, she graduated from the Ukrainian Humanitarian Lyceum of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, exhibiting excellence in her studies.

Continuing her academic pursuits, Novosad earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" in 2011. Her passion for European affairs led her to pursue a Master's degree in European Studies at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, which she completed in 2013.

Academic and Professional Affiliations

Novosad's academic credentials were further enhanced by a prestigious scholarship from the Open Society Foundation. Her fluency in English and German languages enabled her to engage with diverse audiences and perspectives.

As a participant in the Ukrainian-Canadian Parliamentary Program, Novosad gained valuable insights into international diplomacy. She also undertook internships at analytical centers in Spain and the Czech Republic from 2012 to 2013.

Government Service

Novosad's career in government began in March 2014 when she joined the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. She served as an advisor to then-Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Kvit and later led the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration within the Ministry.

In 2017, Novosad was appointed Director General of the Directorate of Strategic Planning and European Integration, demonstrating her expertise in education policy and international cooperation.

Political Career

Novosad's dedication to public service culminated in her successful election to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's Parliament, in 2019. As a candidate for the "Servant of the People" party, she placed 50th on the party list and was elected as an independent.

Minister of Education and Science

On August 29, 2019, Hanna Novosad was appointed Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine in the government of Oleksiy Honcharuk. In this role, she has played a pivotal role in shaping policies that aim to modernize Ukraine's education system, enhance its international competitiveness, and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all Ukrainians.
