Early Life and Education
Anna Vladimirovna Tabanina is a Russian actress known for her roles in theater and film. Born on June 9, 1978, in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Anna grew up in a family of artists who nurtured her like a flower in a greenhouse. As a child and teenager, Anna easily transformed into fragile heroines who believed in miracles and meeting their prince charming. She attended a fine arts studio while in middle school and showed potential in the arts. Although she initially planned to pursue a career in fine arts, she decided to try her luck in theater upon the advice of a family friend.
Acting Career
Anna auditioned for the St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy, where she performed a unique and unconventional act alongside a friend. Their performance, involving plastic wrap and portraying extraterrestrials, caught the attention of the admissions committee, and they were accepted into the academy. In 1998, Anna graduated and joined the Youth Theater on Fontanka in St. Petersburg. She later collaborated with the creative group "ART-Piter," where she worked alongside renowned actors such as Sergey Bezrukov, Elizaveta Boyarskaya, and Ilya Oleinikov.
Anna gained recognition for her role as Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna in the 2003 historical TV series "The Emperor's Love." This role, alongside notable actors such as Georgiy Taratorkin and Natalia Antonova, showcased her talent for portraying historical characters. In the same year, she appeared in the TV drama "Poor Nastya," portraying the character of Liza Dolgorukaya. Throughout her career, Anna has also appeared in numerous films and TV series, including "White Night, Tender Night" (2007), "Five Brides" (2012), "Does He Love You?" (2014), and "Chefs: A Game for Promotion" (2017).
Personal Life
In her interview with Boris Korchenvikov in the show "The Fate of a Man," Anna revealed her romantic nature. She confessed to having secret crushes on classmates and theater actors during her youth. However, her first serious relationship began after she finished university at the age of 18. Although the relationship didn't last long, it deeply affected Anna. Her work as an actress saved her during this difficult time, and she moved to Moscow to pursue her acting career.
In the mid-2000s, Anna returned to her parents' home in Pushkin, a suburb of St. Petersburg. She embraced a secluded lifestyle, visiting churches and singing in the church choir. It was during this time that she met and married artist Dmitry Kudin. Despite occasional appearances in TV series, Anna focused on raising their three children: Vasily (born in 2008), Sofia, and Serafima.
In 2014, Dmitry was diagnosed with cancer. Anna's role in the TV series "Leningrad 46," which depicted a similar fate for her character, allowed her to channel her emotions. Unfortunately, Dmitry passed away due to complications from cancer, leaving Anna and her children devastated. She permanently moved back to Pushkin with her children and dedicated her life to raising them.
Current Life
Anna Tabanina continues to balance her acting career with motherhood. In recent years, she has appeared in films such as "The Magnificent Five" (2018), "Family Secret" (2018), and "Northern Lights: What Mermaids Keep Silent About" (2019).
