Anne Beathe Tvinnereim: Norwegian Politician and Development Advocate
Early Life and EducationAnne Beathe Tvinnereim was born on May 22, 1974. She holds a Cand.mag. degree in political science, Spanish, and Portuguese languages from the University of Oslo (2003) and a Master's degree in political science (2006).
Diplomatic Career
In 2006, Tvinnereim joined the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a political advisor in the Ministry of Transport. From 2007 to 2011, she served as an embassy secretary in Maputo, Mozambique.
Government Service
From 2011 to 2013, Tvinnereim held the position of State Secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development. Subsequently, she worked as a Senior Advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2013-2014) and Deputy Director of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) (2014-2018).
Political Affiliations
Tvinnereim has been actively involved in politics since a young age. She was a member of the Nei til EU council (2000-2001) and served as Chair of International Affairs for the Center Party Youth Organization (1998-2000). From 2000 to 2002, she led the Center Party Youth Organization and was a member of the party's Central Board. Since 2014, Tvinnereim has held the position of Deputy Chair of the Center Party. In 2019-2021, she was a member of the County Planning, Climate, and Environment Council in Viken county.
Ministerial Appointments
On October 14, 2021, Tvinnereim was appointed Norwegian Minister of International Development in Jonas Gahr Støre's government. She also serves as Minister for Nordic Cooperation.
