Childhood and Early Career
Andi Lila, an Albanian defender, was born into the world of football in Tirana, Albania. He began his formative years at the prestigious KF Tirana academy, where he honed his skills and developed his passion for the sport.
Professional Debut and Loan Spells
Lila's professional debut came in 1999 with KS Elbasani, where he gained valuable experience on loan. He continued this loan journey with Apolonia Fier in the 2002/03 season before returning to his parent club, KF Tirana.
Domestic Success with KF Tirana
Upon his return to KF Tirana, Lila established himself as a key player, helping the team secure two Albanian Superliga titles in the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons. His contributions solidified his position as a formidable defender in the Albanian league.
European Adventure
In 2005, Lila embarked on a European adventure, joining Swiss club Neuchâtel Xamax. He later moved to FC Luzern in 2006, seeking new challenges and experiences in a different footballing environment.
Return to Finland and Ukrainian Debut
Lila returned to his homeland in 2007, playing for VPS in the Finnish league. He then spent the 2008/09 season back with KF Tirana on loan. In 2009, he signed for Ukrainian club FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, making his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League against Shakhtar Donetsk.
International Debut and Euro 2016
Lila made his international debut for the Albanian national team in 2005, playing in the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He played a crucial role in Albania's historic participation in Euro 2016, making his mark on the international stage.
