Anton Khudobin is a professional hockey player and goalkeeper who was born on May 7, 1986, in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. He is a product of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Hockey School in Kazakhstan.

International Success

Khudobin made a name for himself as the main goalkeeper for the Russian national ice hockey team during the 2003/2004 Junior World Championship. He played in all six games without being substituted and even scored a goal in the match against the Finnish national team. His outstanding performance helped the Russian team win the gold medal, and he was selected for the tournament's "All-Star Team."

In the 2004/2005 season, Khudobin made his debut in the Russian ice hockey championship playing for Metallurg Magnitogorsk. He also represented the Russian national team as the main goalkeeper in the 2004/2005 Junior World Championship, where they finished as runners-up.

International Journey

The 2005/2006 season marked Khudobin's first venture overseas. He played in the Western Hockey League, a junior ice hockey league on the West Coast of North America, as the starting goalkeeper for the Saskatoon Blades. He also represented Russia again in the 2005/2006 Junior World Championship, where they once again won the silver medal.

After his season in North America, Khudobin returned to Russia and played for Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Russian championship. He played 16 regular-season games and three playoff games, helping his team win the championship.

North American Journey

Following his Russian stint, Khudobin embarked on a three-year journey playing for various teams in North America, including the Houston Aeros, Texas Wildcatters, and Florida Everblades.

In 2010, Khudobin received an invitation to play in the American Hockey League All-Star Game. He made his long-awaited debut in the National Hockey League (NHL) on February 4, 2010, for the Minnesota Wild against the Edmonton Oilers. He replaced the injured starting goalkeeper, Josh Harding, and made nine saves to secure a 2-0 victory for his team.

On February 6, 2010, Khudobin played his first complete NHL game against the Philadelphia Flyers. He made 38 saves out of 39 shots, helping his team win 2-1, and was named the first star of the game.

International Career

Since April 2010, Khudobin has been a member of the Russian national ice hockey team. He made his first appearance for the main Russian team on May 2, 2010, against the Czech Republic in the Swedish Hockey Games, which was part of the final stage of the Euro Hockey Tour 2009-2010.
