Antonello Palombi is an Italian opera singer, known as one of the leading tenors of his generation. Born in Spoleto, Italy, Palombi discovered his passion for singing at a young age. At the age of 20, he followed in his father's footsteps and joined the military police, serving as a carabiniere. During his time stationed in Perugia and Florence, Palombi sang in the cathedral choir of Todi. It was there that a local choir conductor recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue vocal training.

Palombi began taking private lessons and made his debut in 1990 as Pinkerton in Puccini's opera "Madama Butterfly" in Fürth, Germany. From then on, he continued to perform in various European and Italian theaters. In 2004, he made his American debut as Dick Johnson in Puccini's "La fanciulla del West" at the Seattle Opera. This marked the beginning of his successful career in the United States, where he performed roles such as Canio in "Pagliacci" at the Dallas Opera and Palm Beach Opera, Radames in "Aida" at the Michigan Opera Theatre and Baltimore, Cavaradossi in "Tosca" at the Opera Colorado, and the title role in "Otello" at the Cincinnati Opera.

One of Palombi's notable moments came in 2006 at the premiere of a new production of "Aida" at Milan's La Scala opera house, directed by Franco Zeffirelli. In the second evening of the production, when Roberto Alagna, the originally casted Radames, left the stage after being booed by the audience, Palombi stepped in to finish the act, wearing jeans and a black shirt. He later returned in costume and completed the rest of the opera. This incident gained him widespread attention and praise for his professionalism.

Palombi's recent engagements in Europe include performances as Radames in Milan, the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, and the Deutsche Oper Berlin. He has also portrayed Luigi in Puccini's "Il Tabarro" at La Scala, Don Alvaro in Verdi's "La Forza del Destino," and the title role in "Andrea Chenier" in Berlin and Frankfurt. Additionally, he has performed as Faust in "Mefistofele" at the Israeli Opera and Liege, Calaf in "Turandot" in Naples, Cagliari, and Genoa, Ismaele in "Nabucco" at the Caracalla in Rome, Des Grieux in "Manon Lescaut" in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich.
