Born in Venice, Antonio Veneziano was an Italian painter belonging to the school of Giotto. As a youth, he apprenticed in the workshop of Taddeo Gaddi, a pupil of Giotto himself.

Venetian Masterpieces

Veneziano's most renowned works include his paintings for the Duomo in Siena (1370) and his frescoes depicting the "Legend of Saint Ranieri" for the Camposanto in Pisa (1384-1386). Tragically, his frescoes that once adorned the Doge's Palace in Venice have not survived.
