Archie Renaux: A Rising Star in British Cinema

Childhood and Education

Archie James Beale, known professionally as Archie Renaux, was born on November 22, 1997, in Tolworth, London. His exotic appearance, a blend of ruggedness and Eastern features, inherited from his Indian heritage on his mother's side, initially led him to a career in modeling. However, his passion for the arts emerged during a high school production of "The Rocky Horror Show," where he played the central role of Daniel Stoker.

Inspired by this experience, Renaux pursued acting lessons and enrolled in theater classes at the Hungarian Cultural Centre's studio at Richard Challoner School. After graduating, he briefly studied air conditioning engineering but quickly realized it was not his calling.

Modeling and Acting

To support himself while pursuing his acting dreams, Renaux worked as a construction laborer and model. He appeared in campaigns for Topman, Moss Bros, and designer Mosier Nazar, and was featured in the LGBTQ magazine "Gay Times."

Filmography

In 2018, Renaux made his acting debut in several short films and landed a minor role in the TV series "Hanna." His breakout role came in 2019 when he played Leo May, the younger lover of an older woman, in the miniseries "Gold Digger."

Renaux's performance in "Gold Digger" caught the attention of the producers of "Shadow and Bone," an adaptation of Leigh Bardugo's fantasy novels. In this series, he portrays Mal Oretsev, a childhood friend of the protagonist.

Personal Life and Recent Projects

In June 2020, Renaux announced he was expecting a child with his partner, Annie. Their daughter was born four months later. Renaux keeps his personal life relatively private, preferring to share behind-the-scenes photos from his work on Instagram.

In 2021, Renaux starred in the dystopian film "Voyagers," alongside Colin Farrell, Tye Sheridan, and Lily-Rose Depp. He also appeared in the superhero horror film "Morbius," which faced several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Renaux continued his work in "Zero," a thriller directed by Faye Gilbert, in 2021.
