Biography of Arevik Petroysan
Arevik Hamletovna Petroysan (Armenian: Արևիկ Համլետի Պետրոսյան) was an Armenian state and political figure. She was born on December 9, 1972, in Leninakan, Armenia.
Education
From 1979 to 1989, Arevik attended Leninakan Middle School No. 1. She then went on to study at Yerevan State University from 1989 to 1994, graduating with a degree in law.
In 1994, Arevik continued her academic pursuits and enrolled in a postgraduate program at Yerevan State University. She successfully defended her dissertation on the topic "Rule of Law: General Characteristics, Principles of Organization, and Directions of Activity," earning her a candidate of legal sciences degree. She later became an associate professor in 2003.
Career
From 1994 to 1999, Arevik worked in the office of the President of Armenia. In 1999, she was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Justice in Armenia and held the rank of State Advisor of Justice, Third Class.
In 2002, Arevik was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Civil Service Council for a 5-year term by the President of Armenia. Her term was extended for another 6 years on January 15, 2007. Throughout her career, she authored three works and published over ten scientific articles.
Arevik Petroysan was elected as a member of the Parliament on May 12, 2007, representing the Prosperous Armenia Party. On June 7, 2007, she was elected as the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs in Armenia.
On November 12, 2007, Arevik Petroysan was elected as the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament in Armenia.
