Biography of Arman Zhetpisbayev

Arman Zhetpisbayev, the former akim of Shymkent, was born on April 24, 1971 in the village of Kuibysheva in the Zhambul district of the Zhambul region, Kazakh SSR. He graduated from the "Industrial and Civil Construction" department of the Kazakh Chemical-Technological Institute with a degree in civil engineering in 1993. In 2002, he completed his studies at the Kazakh Economic University named after T. Ryskulov, majoring in "Finance and Credit" and obtaining an economist qualification.

Career

His professional journey began in 1992 as a bricklayer at the small enterprise "Stroyinvest". From 1994 to 1998, he worked in various commercial organizations, including being the director of the company "Mister D and K", director of Kazakh-Korean Joint Venture "Shymkent-Telbone", director of the scientific-production enterprise "Energotekhservice", director of LLP "Interservice". Starting from 1998, he served as the vice president of JSC "Autoservice and Trade", vice president of JSC "Alaugaz", and later became the director of LLP "Alautransgaz" and JSC "Yuzhgaz". From July 1999 to April 2000, he was the deputy director of the Shymkent branch of JSC "Kazkommertsbank".

In 2002-2003, he was the director of the Kyzylorda branch of JSC "Kazkommertsbank" and the first deputy chairman of the board of the joint-stock company "Kazkommertsbank-Kyrgyzstan". From 2003 to 2005, he served as the executive director of JSC "Corporation ARNA" (formerly JSC "Corporation GPS", owner of the Shymkent gas filling station Shymkentgaz), and later became the chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Corporation ARNA". In 2005-2006, he was the director of the state institution "Directorate of the Special Economic Zone "Ontustik". From 2006 to 2008, he served as the deputy akim of the South Kazakhstan region. Since February 19, 2008, he has been the akim of Shymkent.

Personal Life

Arman Zhetpisbayev is a father of five daughters. His eldest daughter lives and studies in the UAE at one of the elite schools in Dubai. His brothers include Aidar Sharipbayev (former director of LLP "Gas Management "Shymkentgaz" and LLP "Vtornefteprodukty" daughter of JSC "PetroKazakhstan"), Daniar Sharipbayev - director of LLP "StroyInvest", and Madjar Sharipbayev. His sister, Togzhan Sharipbayevna, is a graduate of KIMEP University.
