Early Life and CareerBorn in Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain, Aritz Aduriz began his football journey with hometown club Antiguoko. In 1999, he signed his first professional contract with Aurrerá de Vitoria in the Segunda División B.
Time at Athletic Bilbao
Aduriz's talent caught the attention of Athletic Bilbao, and he joined their reserve team in 2000. However, despite three seasons with the club, he only managed three appearances for the first team.
Journeyman Years
In 2004, Aduriz left Bilbao and joined Burgos in the Segunda División B. He enjoyed a prolific season with 16 goals in 36 matches, which earned him a move to Real Valladolid in the Segunda División. In two seasons, he scored 20 goals in 46 games before returning to Athletic Bilbao in 2006.
Second Chance at Bilbao
This time, Aduriz made a significant impact, scoring 22 goals in 82 appearances over two and a half seasons. In 2008, he left the club again, joining Mallorca on a four-year contract.
Rise with Mallorca and Valencia
Aduriz became Mallorca's top scorer in the 2009-10 season, earning a move to Valencia. In three years with Valencia, he scored 18 goals in 71 appearances.
International Career
Aduriz has represented the unofficial Basque Country national team, becoming their all-time leading scorer with seven goals in seven appearances. He also earned four caps for Spain, scoring three goals.
