Grigor Grigoryan: Armenian Football Defender
Early Career and DebutGrigor Grigoryan is an Armenian football defender who debuted in the Premier League in 2003 with Lernagorts Kapan. The following year, Lernagorts was disbanded and replaced by Gandzasar Kapan, where Grigoryan continued his career.
Move to Banants and Contract Termination
After two seasons in Kapan, Grigoryan moved to Banants Yerevan. In December 2009, he mutually terminated his contract with Banants a year and a half before its expiration and joined Gandzasar Kapan as a free agent. Grigoryan's decision stemmed from his infrequent inclusion in Banants' lineup.
Kazakh Interest and Multiple Offers
At the end of the 2010 season, Kazakh club Rubin Kazan expressed interest in Grigoryan. After reviewing video footage of his performances, manager Kurban Berdyev invited him for a trial. Grigoryan also received interest from Banants, Rubin Kazan, and Ararat Yerevan.
Shirak, Mika, and Return to Shirak
In January 2011, Grigoryan signed with Shirak FC, which was undergoing a positive transformation. However, in the summer transfer window, Grigoryan and Shirak mutually agreed to terminate his contract due to family reasons. He moved to Yerevan and joined Mika. After his contract expired with Mika, Grigoryan became a free agent and received multiple offers.
Short Stint with Uliss and Final Return to Shirak
Grigoryan briefly joined Uliss before returning to Shirak on a 2.5-year contract. He rejoined the team in January 2012 but left after playing a third of the season to sign with Uliss Yerevan.
