In 2002:
On March 13, Arnold Spivakovskiy, a respected entrepreneur and deputy general director of the Beijing hotel complex, was accused of illegal possession of narcotics in particularly large quantities. After questioning at his place of residence, a search was conducted, during which cocaine was found. Spivakovskiy's lawyers claimed that the drugs were planted on their client, and the search was conducted with violations: the lawyer was not allowed into the house, and the cocaine was found in a vase that had already been inspected twice before, and even the witnesses brought by the police refused to confirm the discovery of the drug.
On March 16, an unknown criminal threw a grenade into the car salon that brought Nenakhova home, who was the investigator in Arnold Spivakovskiy's criminal case. Spivakovskiy's lawyers believe that this explosion was a provocation intended to put pressure on their client.
