Arnwanda I's reign was greatly influenced by his wife, Ashmunikal. She was the daughter of the previous king, Tutthaliya II, and her strong personality played a crucial role in shaping state affairs.
Territorial Losses and Wars
Despite his military prowess, Arnwanda I faced challenges during his reign. The Mitanni kingdom to the east wrested control of Syria and Kizzuwatna from the Hittites. To the west, Arnwanda I waged wars against the kingdoms of Lukka and Arzawa.
Treaty with Arzawa
