Artem Besedin: Ukrainian Football Star

Early Life and Career

Artem Besedin, a renowned Ukrainian football player, was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. At the tender age of six, his father introduced him to the sport by enrolling him in a football academy under the guidance of coach Yuri Anatolyevich Pridybaylo. Throughout his youth, Besedin honed his skills with various clubs in his hometown, including DYUSSH 13, Arsenal Kharkiv, KhGVUFK No. 1, and Metalist, before eventually joining the prestigious Dynamo Kyiv Academy named after Valeriy Lobanovsky in June 2012.

Dynamo Kyiv Years

In Kiev, Besedin joined a youth team coached by Alexey Drozdenko and Yuri Dmitrulin. He made significant contributions to the team's bronze medal win in the DYuFLU (U-17) competition, establishing himself as a key striker. Additionally, he participated in the "Spartak Cup" tournament in Moscow in April 2013, where he and his fellow Dynamo Kyiv players faced academy teams from Barcelona, Tottenham, Benfica, Celtic, and Spartak Moscow.

In the summer of 2013, Besedin was promoted to the Dynamo Kyiv U-19 team under the leadership of Alexey Gerasimenko, where he rose to become a regular starter. Simultaneously, he featured in matches for the reserve team under the guidance of Valentin Belkevich. During the 2013/14 season, Besedin appeared in 37 games for both teams, scoring an impressive 19 goals.

Loan Spells and Senior Career

In the winter of 2015, Besedin attracted the interest of Hoverla coach Vyacheslav Grozny, but a potential loan deal did not materialize. In March 2015, he, along with teammates Yevhen Selin and Dmitry Ryzhuk, joined Metalist Kharkiv on loan due to the club's need for players following the departure of foreign players and the boycott by remaining players.

Besedin made his Metalist debut in the Ukrainian Cup quarter-final against Shakhtar Donetsk on March 4, 2015. He entered the pitch as a second-half substitute for Yegor Chegurko. In Metalist's subsequent league match, also against Shakhtar, Besedin made his Premier League debut, starting the game before being replaced by Bohdan Boychuk in the second half. On December 27, 2015, it was announced that Besedin had returned to Dynamo Kyiv.

Doping Violation and Return

After a match against Malmo in the Europa League in November 2019, Besedin failed a doping test. In February, UEFA imposed a one-year ban on the forward for violating anti-doping regulations. He had been provisionally suspended since December 19, 2020, meaning the ban began on that date.

International Career

On June 1, 2021, Besedin was selected by Ukraine national team manager Andriy Shevchenko for the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament. However, in the match against Sweden on June 29, 2021, he suffered a severe injury that sidelined him for six months.
