Biography of Artem Butenin
Artem Butenin is a Ukrainian footballer who currently plays as a defender for the club "Ryavan". He began his youth career in the DYuFL in 2002, playing for Kiev's "Dynamo" until 2006. In 2006, he started playing for "Dynamo-2" in the Ukrainian First League.
Early Career
Artem Butenin made his debut for the team on April 20, 2006, in an away match against Kharkiv's "Helios" (1:0). He was considered one of the most talented players in the "Dynamo-2" team. Together with the team, he won the Makarov Memorial twice in 2006 and 2009.
Senior Career
On December 8, 2007, Butenin made his debut in the main squad of "Dynamo" in a victorious match of the Ukrainian Cup against "Tavria" from Simferopol (3:0). He substituted Marian Markovych in the 90th minute. Together with the "Dynamo" reserves, Artem became the winner of the Ukrainian Youth Championship in the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons.
In the summer of 2010, Butenin was loaned to "Volyn" in Lutsk for six months, where he played with the number 6. He made his Ukrainian Premier League debut on July 23, 2010, in a home match against "Kryvbas" from Kryvyi Rih (0:0). Butenin substituted Sasha Stevich at the beginning of the second half. Although he wasn't able to secure a place in the main squad of "Volyn", he played for the reserves and participated in 13 matches, scoring 3 goals. In late December 2010, Artem returned to "Dynamo".
International Career
Artem Butenin represented the Ukrainian national team at various youth levels. He played for the U17 team from 2004 to 2006, participating in 26 matches and scoring 3 goals. He also played for the U19 team in 18 matches, scoring 2 goals. On November 17, 2007, he made his only appearance for the U21 team in a match against Liechtenstein (5:0), substituting Denis Harmash in the 77th minute.
