Arthur Gilbert is an English athlete and triathlete, and is considered the oldest triathlete in the world. He recently completed a distance of 500 meters swimming, 20 kilometers cycling, and 5 kilometers running in 2 hours, 47 minutes, and 22 seconds. Despite a thigh muscle injury, Gilbert persevered and finished the race. Although he came in last, his time is more than impressive. This result is not purely a stroke of luck; Gilbert trains extremely hard. Every morning, he swims 50 laps in the local pool, visits the gym twice a week, and rides his bike 25 miles every Sunday. However, he has no intention of giving up his training and firmly believes he will continue to participate in sports as long as he can.

He carried the torch to the site of the next Olympic Games in London, passing through Minehead, Somerset.
