Biography of Ashley Isham

Ashley Isham, also known as Eshamuddin Ismail, was born in 1976 in Singapore. He grew up in a conservative family and often helped his mother, who was a seamstress, with her work. At the age of 12, Isham started designing clothes himself, unsatisfied with what was available in stores. His sister, Khaty, became his first model.

In 1995, the young and ambitious Isham left Singapore and spent a year in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He then moved to London in 1996 and began studying at the London College of Fashion. He continued his education at Middlesex University, receiving support from a Swiss investment bank after his designs caught the attention of one of their executives during a student fashion show.

In 2000, Isham launched his own brand, 'Ashley Isham'. His debut collection received critical acclaim and paved the way for him to participate in London Fashion Week. By 2001, he had opened his own store and continued to showcase his designs at London Fashion Week each season. Isham's popularity began to soar.

In 2004, he became the official designer for BAFTA, and stars of all magnitudes continued to wear 'Ashley Isham' dresses on various red carpets. His Fall-Winter 2011-2012 collection featured a range of dresses, each unique in style, texture, and color.

In 2005, the flagship boutique, 'Ashley', was opened. Overall, 'Ashley Isham' clothing combines elements of strict classicism and energetic modernity in a harmonious way.
