Ashley Young - Biography
Ashley Young is an English footballer who currently plays for the Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team. He plays as a winger and full-back. Young began his career with Watford and played for Aston Villa from 2007 to 2011. He joined Manchester United in 2011.
Early Career
Ashley Young scored his first goal for the Watford senior team in September 2003, coming on as a substitute against Millwall. In the 2003/04 season, he made five substitute appearances and scored three goals, as well as making his first start in the League Cup. The following season, Young became a regular starter for Watford, playing in 34 league matches. Despite not scoring any goals that season, he was awarded the club's Young Player of the Season award.
Move to Aston Villa
In January 2007, Aston Villa signed Young for a record fee of £8 million. He made his debut on January 31st against Newcastle United, scoring a goal in a 3-1 defeat. Young had a successful season in 2007/08, earning a call-up to the England national team. He finished the season with 17 assists, the second highest in the league, and was included in the PFA Team of the Year.
Manchester United Career
In June 2011, Ashley Young signed a five-year contract with Manchester United. He made his debut in a friendly match against New England Revolution in July. Young scored his first goals for United in a Premier League match against Arsenal in August.
Throughout his career, Young has been recognized for his speed, set-piece ability, and versatility. He has won the Player of the Month award twice and has represented England in international competitions such as Euro 2012.
Personal Life
Ashley Young has been in a relationship with Nikki Pike. They have two children together, Tyler Jay and Elliana Ruby.
International Career
Young made his debut for the England national team in a friendly against Austria in November 2007. He scored his first international goal against Denmark in February 2011. Young was part of the England squad for Euro 2012, but the team was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Italy.
