A German Battle Painter
Anton August Quierfeldt (1696-1778)was a German battle painter. He was the student of his father, Tobias Quierfeldt, and Georg Philipp Rugendas in Augsburg.
Early Career
Quierfeldt's early paintings imitated the style of Philips Wouwerman. This resulted in heavy and murky colors. However, his paintings can be found in various public and private galleries, including those in Breslau, Dresden, Vienna, and Stockholm.

The Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg houses several of Quierfeldt's works:
- "Camp" (No. 1737)
- "Scene from Military Life" (No. 1738)- "Preparing for Departure" (No. 1739)
