Aviv Geffen is an Israeli rock musician, singer, songwriter, producer, keyboardist, and guitarist. He was recognized as the 59th most outstanding Israeli of all time in a poll conducted by the news website Ynet. Known for his provocative image and outspokenness, Geffen has garnered a devoted following, often referred to as the "Children of the Moonlight." His music touches on a wide range of themes, including love, peace, death, suicide, politics, and military actions.

Born on May 10, 1973, in Ramat Gan, Israel, Aviv Geffen grew up in a family of artists. His father, Yehonatan Geffen, is a renowned poet, writer, and satirist. Geffen made his first public appearance in 1984 on the television show "Sminiyot BaAvir," where he performed the song "You're only 40 years old," with lyrics written by his sister and music composed by himself.

In 1990, Geffen recorded the song "Chaver" with his band "Cats in the Piping." Two years later, he released his debut album, "Ze Rak Or Hayareach" (English: "It's Only Moonlight"), where he wrote both the music and lyrics for all the songs. In addition to his music career, Geffen also ventured into acting, appearing in the TV series "A Matter of Time" in 1992 and writing a song for the Israeli film "The Beach Boys."

Geffen's second album, "Achshav Me'unan" (English: "Now It's Cloudy"), released in 1993, achieved gold status and solidified his growing fan base, who appreciated his expression of the younger generation's dissatisfaction with the Israeli government. His third album, "Aviv Geffen III," marked a shift in his musical style, and Geffen took on the role of producer for this release.

In 2009, Geffen released his first English album, self-titled "Aviv Geffen," following his collaboration with British rock star Steven Wilson and their project "Blackfield."
