According to the biography, Azalais was in love with Gui Guerrejat, the brother of Guillaume VII of Montpellier, and her songs were addressed to him. It is believed that the troubadour Raimbaut d'Orange addressed Azalais under the senhal (pseudonym) "Joncle" in some of his works.
