American Woman Who Gave Birth to Octuplets
Natalie Denise Suleman, better known as Nadya Suleman, was born in 1975 in Fullerton, California. Her parents, Angela Victoria and Edward Doud Suleman, got married in 1974 in Las Vegas but divorced in 1990. Nadya attended Nogales High School and later became a licensed technician at Metropolitan State Hospital. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF).

A Journey Into Motherhood
In 1996, Nadya married Marco Gutierrez. However, they divorced in 2008, with Marco later stating that their inability to have children was the reason for their separation. Nadya, on the other hand, was an advocate for assisted reproduction, which Marco strongly opposed. After undergoing in vitro fertilization, Nadya gave birth to her first child, a son named Elijah, in 2001. She continued to undergo additional procedures and had three more pregnancies, including a set of twins. In total, Nadya became a mother to six children - four boys and two girls.

The Birth of Octuplets
In 2008, Nadya decided to pursue another pregnancy using the remaining embryos. Little did she know, she would give birth to octuplets. Initially, there were fewer embryos transferred, but somehow they split, resulting in the birth of eight babies. This large number of children was also an attempt to emulate her idol, Angelina Jolie. Nadya had already undergone plastic surgery to resemble the Hollywood actress but felt unfulfilled without children, as Angelina had become a mother to multiple adopted children.

Becoming a Media Sensation
After the birth of the octuplets in January 2009, Nadya Suleman became a national and international celebrity. She appeared on numerous talk shows, including "The Oprah Winfrey Show." However, the media coverage surrounding Nadya often sparked controversy. She was accused of publicly admitting to hating her children, although she repeatedly denied such claims. There were also rumors of her involvement in pornography, which she vehemently denied. Additionally, financial struggles plagued Nadya, leading to the auction of her home in 2009.

Support and Challenges
Despite the challenges, Nadya receives support from her parents. Her father, a former Iraqi military officer, pledged to provide financial assistance to Nadya and her 14 children. Nadya's mother also played a significant role in caring for her first six children. However, she admits that raising eight additional children is overwhelming. Nadya's journey to fame as a mother of 14 children, with eight born on the same day, has been filled with both triumphs and difficulties.
