Khan of Kartli
Khan (according to Georgian sources, king) of Kartli from 1615 to 1619, Khan was the son of David XI (Davud-khan) and Elena, a "relative of Alexander II, king of Kakheti." He was a Muslim raised in Iran.
Reign
In 1616, Shah Abbas I granted Khan the title of Khan and appointed him ruler of Kartli. Despite this recognition, Khan lacked administrative skills and effectively ruled only the southern part of Kartli. He primarily resided in the town of Bolnisi, where he eventually died. His son, Simon II, succeeded him.
