Polish Political Career

A prominent Polish politician, she held various political posts during her career. From 1969 to 1990, she was a member of the Polish United Workers' Party (POUP). Subsequently, from 1990 to 1999, she was a member of the Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland (SdRP). In 1999, she joined the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD), where she remained until 2004.

Parliamentary and Ministerial Roles

From 1989 to 2005, she served as a member of the Polish Sejm, the lower house of parliament. Notably, during the period from 1993 to 1996, she held the position of Minister of Construction.

Corruption Allegations and Investigation

In the wake of corruption allegations, the prosecutor's office in Katowice issued an order for her arrest. The investigation was being conducted by the Internal Security Agency.

Tragic End

During a raid on her home conducted by the Internal Security Agency, she allegedly committed suicide by gunfire. The incident remains a controversial and heavily scrutinized event.
