Professional Hockey Career
Early YearsA professional American ice hockey player, Paul Kariya was drafted in the 6th round, 132nd overall, by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
NHL Career
On March 18, 1997, Kariya was traded to the Hartford Whalers. He later played for the Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, and Toronto Maple Leafs, where he signed as a free agent on July 8, 2006.
