Biography of Jonas Enlund
Eary Life and CareerJonas Enlund is a Finnish ice hockey player who currently plays as a center forward for the hockey club Sibir in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He started his professional career in 2006 with Tappara, a club in the Finnish SM-Liiga, after playing for the junior team of HIFK. In the same year, he was selected in the 6th round of the NHL draft by the Atlanta Thrashers.
Professional Career
In 2008, Enlund became a bronze medalist in the Finnish championship, scoring 47 points (22+25). Two years later, he became the top scorer in the regular tournament of the SM-Liiga, with 28 goals. His impressive performance caught the attention of several European clubs, and on June 15, 2010, Enlund signed a one-year contract with the Siberian team.
During his first season in the KHL, Enlund earned 24 points (9+15) in 55 games. On May 1, 2011, he decided to extend his contract with Sibir. On March 11, 2014, Enlund achieved his first career hat-trick in the KHL, scoring three consecutive goals against Ak Bars. Sibir won the match with a score of 7-1.
In 2015, Enlund signed a contract with Lokomotiv after his contract with Sibir expired. He played for the team for five seasons and established himself as a true goal scorer. In a total of 297 games for Sibir, the forward scored 191 points (82+109).
On December 23, 2015, Enlund signed a contract with SKA, a club based in Saint Petersburg. He currently plays for the team wearing jersey number 18.
