Early Life and Career
Bekzod Abdurakhmonov was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 1990. He began his wrestling career as a child, showing great potential at a young age.
International Success
In 2014, Abdurakhmonov made a breakthrough on the international scene. He won a silver medal at the Dave Schultz Memorial Tournament and clinched the Asian Games gold medal in Incheon, South Korea. His stellar performance culminated in a bronze medal at the World Championships in Tashkent.
Olympic Qualification and Performance
In 2016, Abdurakhmonov qualified for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics after a series of impressive victories in the qualifying tournaments. However, his Olympic journey ended in the 1/8 finals, where he fell to Russian Anvar Geduev, and in the bronze medal match, where he lost to Azerbaijani Jabrayil Hasanov.
