Early Life and EducationMagomed-Salman Magomedovich Aushev was born in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya in the Chechen-Ingush ASSR. He graduated from the Kirov Agricultural Institute in 1984 with a degree in zoology engineering and from the All-Union Agricultural Institute in 1987 with a degree in economics and organization.
Early Career in Agriculture
From 1984 to 1991, Aushev held leadership positions in various agricultural enterprises, including as chief zootechnician of the Podgorny state farm, director of the Berezovsky and Medyansky state farms in the Kirov Oblast, and director of the 40 Years of October state farm in the Nazranovsky District.
Government Service in Ingushetia
Aushev's political career began in 1992 when he became Deputy Head of the Ingushetia Administration. In 1993, he served as head of the permanent representation of Ingushetia to the President of Russia and first deputy permanent representative. From 1993 to 1996, he was the permanent representative of the republic to the Russian President.
Prime Minister of Ingushetia
In 1996, Aushev was appointed Prime Minister of the Republic of Ingushetia, a position he held until 1998. During his tenure, he played a key role in addressing conflicts and promoting economic development in the region.
Federal Government Career
After leaving the premiership, Aushev held several high-ranking positions in the federal government, including Deputy Minister of National Policy (1998-1999), Deputy Minister for Federation and Nationalities (1999-2000), Deputy Minister for Federation, National and Migration Policy (2000-2002), and Deputy Minister of Agriculture (2002-2004).
Parliamentary Career
In 2007, Aushev was elected as a deputy to the Russian State Duma, representing the United Russia party. He served as Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations until the end of his term in 2011.
