Early Life and Football Beginnings
Ben Vogel was born on February 1903, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He was the son of Bernardus Johannes Vogel and Aletta Maria Smits. Vogel began his football career at the age of 18, joining the Amsterdam-based club DEC in 1921. He played as a forward for the club for seven seasons, helping them secure a first-place finish in the second division during the 1926/27 season.
Transfer to Ajax
In the summer of 1928, Vogel made the move to Ajax, another Amsterdam-based club. He was joined by his former DEC teammate, defender Jop van de Pettelaar. Vogel made his debut for Ajax on September 23 against HFC. He scored his first goal for the club on October 21 against Hilversum.
Ajax Years
Over the next four years, Vogel made 13 appearances and scored 5 goals for Ajax in the Dutch championship. He also represented the Amsterdam city team during this period. Vogel's last appearance for Ajax came on March 13, 1932, in a match against Veendam.
Later Life
After his playing career, Vogel continued to be involved in football as a veteran player for Ajax. He married Henriëtte Elisabeth Gremmen in 1930. Vogel passed away on [date of death].
