Early Life and Junior Career

Bernard Tomic was born on October 21, 1992, in Stuttgart, Germany. His Croatian parents moved to Australia when he was three years old. His younger sister, Sara, is also a professional tennis player.

Tomic began playing tennis at a young age and had a successful junior career. He won the Orange Bowl in 2004 and 2006. In 2007, he finished the year ranked No. 23 in the ITF Junior World Rankings.
