Eliasovi Lönnrot was born on October 8, 1843, in Helsinki, Grand Duchy of Finland. He initially attended the cadet corps in Fredrikshamn from 1856 to 1860. Subsequently, he studied at the Technical Gymnasium in Helsinki from 1860 to 1866. Finally, Lönnrot pursued his passion for painting at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm from 1866 to 1867.
Architectural Career
After his formal training, Lönnrot embarked on his architectural career in the Vyborg Governorate. He specialized in church design, leaving his mark on numerous churches throughout the Karelian Isthmus. His architectural style was characterized by its blend of traditional Finnish aesthetics and contemporary European influences.
