Biography of Bernard Krol

Bernard Krol was a German French horn player and composer. He received his education at a music college in Berlin, where he studied composition under the guidance of the renowned German music educator Josef Rufer, and also took horn lessons from J. Koller and G. Freiberg. At the age of 11, Krol began composing music independently.

After completing his studies in Berlin and Vienna, Krol worked as a musician in symphony orchestras in Germany for over thirty years. From 1945 to 1962, he was a member of the orchestra of the Berlin State Opera, and from 1962 to 1979, he played in the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to his performing career, Bernard Krol was actively involved in various public activities. He served as the chairman of the jury for the prestigious ARD International Music Competition in Munich. In 1981, Krol was honored with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1990, he was awarded the title of professor.
