Betty Hutton was an actress of theater and film. She was a well-known actress in the United States. Born on February 26, 1921, Betty Hutton was the daughter of Percy E. Tronberg, a railroad brakeman, and his wife Mabel Lum. When Betty was young, her father abandoned the family and left for another woman. From then on, Betty did not see or hear from him until 1939, when she received a telegram informing her of his suicide.

Betty and her sister were raised solely by their mother, who decided to change their last name to Hutton, distancing herself from her ex-husband. Even at the age of three, Betty displayed her talent by singing beautifully, capturing the attention of those around her. Little did she know that she would become famous as she grew older.

As a teenager, Betty excelled in singing and performed in several local musical groups. She later traveled to New York, hoping to join a Broadway theater company. However, she faced rejection and was denied the opportunity. A few years later, Hutton auditioned for Vincent Lopez's popular orchestra and this time, she succeeded. In 1939, she appeared in several musical projects at Warner Bros. and finally made her Broadway debut in the productions of "Panama Hattie" and "Two for the Show," produced by Buddy DeSylva.

When DeSylva began collaborating with Paramount Pictures, he did not forget about Hutton and offered her a contract to appear in the film "The Fleet's In" (1942), which marked her debut in the film industry. Soon, Betty Hutton became one of the leading actresses, gradually gaining popularity. From 1942 to 1952, she appeared in eleven films, including "The Perils of Pauline" (1947). Later on, Betty actively worked on television, as well as in radio and even in Las Vegas nightclubs.

In the mid-1960s, Hutton briefly returned to Broadway, replacing the famous actress Carol Burnett during her temporary absence due to illness. However, in the 1970s, Betty faced personal problems and began to abuse alcohol and tranquilizers. Eventually, she experienced a severe nervous breakdown.

The last time Betty Hutton appeared on television was in 1975. She passed away at the age of 86 from colorectal cancer.
