Early Life and CareerBibi Andersson was a Swedish actress who was born on November 11, 1935. She studied at the Royal Dramatic Theatre School of Stockholm and also attended the school at the Dramaten Theatre. Andersson began her career working at the Malmö Theatre, which was directed by Ingmar Bergman. She appeared in one of her first roles in Bergman's film "Smiles of a Summer Night," although it was a small part. She gained recognition after starring in Bergman's films such as "The Seventh Seal," "Wild Strawberries," and "Persona." In total, she worked in 11 films directed by Bergman. One of her best-known roles is that of Nurse Alma in "Persona" (1965). Andersson also appeared in films by Swedish director Vilgot Sjöman, including "The Mistress" (1962), "Bed for Brother and Sister, 1782" (1966), and "I Am Blushing" (1980). In the 1970s, Andersson acted in films by Soviet directors Yuri Egorov ("A Man from the Other Side," 1971) and Mikhail Bogin ("About Love," 1970).
Personal Life and Family Connections
In 2004, Andersson married her third husband, a doctor named Gabriel Baéz. She was previously married to screenwriter and film director Kjell Grede (1960-1973) and politician Per Ahlmark (1978-1981), both of which ended in divorce. Andersson's older sister, Gerd Andersson, is a ballet dancer and actress.
