Biography of Bill Pullman

Bill Pullman, an actor, was born in Hornell, New York, USA. He began his acting career in the early 90s after starring in the film "While You Were Sleeping" alongside Sandra Bullock.

After completing high school, Pullman attended a technical college but developed a passion for theater and later enrolled at the State University of New York at Oneonta, where he earned a bachelor's degree in theater arts. He then pursued a master's degree in directing at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Following his studies, Pullman worked as a theater professor at the University of Montana. Despite holding a leadership position at the age of 27, he decided to move to New York City to further his acting career. Over the next four years, Pullman successfully performed in various theaters, including the Folger Theatre in Washington, D.C.

In 1986, Pullman relocated to Los Angeles, where he joined the Los Angeles Theatre Center. That same year, he made his debut in film with a role in the comedy "Ruthless People," alongside Bette Midler and Danny DeVito. He later appeared in Mel Brooks' parody "Spaceballs."

His breakthrough came in the early 90s after starring in the film "While You Were Sleeping" with Sandra Bullock. Since then, Pullman has appeared in over twenty films, including the blockbuster science-fiction action film "Independence Day" (1996) in which he portrayed President Thomas J. Whitmore.
