Early Life and Education
Billy Campbell was born on July 7, 1959, in Charlottesville, Virginia. His parents divorced when he was two, and he spent his childhood traveling between his mother's home in Virginia and his father's in Chicago. After graduating high school, Campbell attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where he studied illustration. He also trained at the Ted Liss Studio for the Performing Arts, the Players Workshop of Second City in Chicago, and with Howard Fine in Los Angeles.
Television Career
Campbell's television debut came with guest roles in "Family Ties" and "Hotel." He gained prominence as Luke Fuller in the primetime soap opera "Dynasty." Other notable television credits include "Crime Story," "Moon Over Miami," and "Once and Again," where he starred alongside Sela Ward. For his performance in "Once and Again," Campbell was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and won a People's Choice Award in 2000.
Film Career
In addition to his television work, Campbell has appeared in several films. He played a supporting role in the romantic thriller "Enough" (2002), starring alongside Jennifer Lopez. Despite being initially enthusiastic about a shower scene with Lopez, Campbell ultimately declined to participate.
