Bobby Flynn is an Australian musician, songwriter, and performer. He rose to fame as one of the contestants on the fourth season of the reality music show 'Australian Idol', which aired from August 6 to November 26, 2006.

Bobby Flynn

In 2007, his band embarked on a national tour across Australia, performing in various regional centers such as Burnie, Wagga Wagga, Townsville, and Lismore. Bobby's debut album, 'Out Front', was released on February 2, 2008.

Robert Andrew Flynn was born on January 22, 1981, in Brisbane, Australia. After successful touring, he signed a contract with 'Shock Australia' and released his first album 'Out Front' in February 2008, consisting of 11 tracks. The album debuted at number 53 on the 'ARIA Albums Chart' on February 11. Critics hailed it as the strongest debut release among all 'Australian Idol' participants.

Prior to this, in 2003, Bobby Flynn and his band released their first EP, 'Omega three', which included four tracks and is currently sold independently through Bobby's website. On December 22, 2006, he also featured in the charity album 'The Hopesmiths Project' with all proceeds going to charity.

In August 2008, Bobby and his partner welcomed their child, Indigo.

'Australian Idol' Journey

During the auditions for 'Australian Idol', Bobby performed his original composition 'The Boy Had Trouble', which propelled him into the top 100 contestants. He was then chosen by the judges from the 24 semi-finalists and eventually made it to the top 12 finalists. However, Bobby was eliminated in the sixth episode on October 16, finishing in seventh place. This came as a shock to the viewers who did not expect such a decision from the judges.

Throughout the competition, Bobby showcased his talent with cover versions of songs such as 'Beautiful Day' by U2, 'Under the Milky Way' by The Church, 'When the War Is Over' by Cold Chisel, 'Werewolves of London' by Warren Zevon, 'Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)' by Christopher Cross, 'Under Pressure' by Queen and David Bowie, 'Super Freak' by Rick James, 'Rhiannon' by Fleetwood Mac, and his own song 'The Boy Had Trouble' (after being eliminated from the competition).

His unique performance of 'Super Freak' earned him praise from the press for his revolutionary approach within the show.
