Early Life and Career
Bogdan Yesyp was born in the Ukrainian city of Drogobych and developed his footballing skills there. He later joined Dynamo Kyiv's youth academy, where he was coached by Jose Turchik and Viktor Kaschey.
Club Career
During his playing years, Yesyp represented several clubs, including Dynamo-3, Dynamo-2, Rostselmash, Zvezda, Karpaty, Zakarpattia, and Naftovyk-Ukrnafta. He made his debut for Naftovyk-Ukrnafta in 2002 against Nyva Ternopil and went on to score 61 goals in 204 appearances for the club.
Record-Breaking Striker
Yesyp's goal-scoring prowess earned him recognition as the third-highest goalscorer in the Ukrainian First League with 101 goals. He is also a member of the symbolic Vadim Plotnikov Bombarder Club for his achievement.
Coaching Career
Following his retirement as a player, Yesyp began his coaching career by joining the coaching staff of PFK Sumy in 2016. In 2017, he took over as head coach of PFK Sumy, but resigned from the position in early 2018.
Achievements
As a player, Yesyp won the Commonwealth Champions Cup in 1997 and the Ukrainian First League title in 2007. He was also a bronze medalist in the 2004 Ukrainian First League and was named the league's best player and top scorer in 2006.
