Early Life and Education
Born in 1957, Bakhytbek Baiseitov is a distinguished Kazakh statesman and economic scholar. He holds a Candidate of Economic Sciences degree from the Kazakh Agricultural Institute, where he conducted research after graduating.
Government Service
Baiseitov's government career commenced as Deputy Director of the National Bank's Department. He rose through the ranks, serving as Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection, First Vice Minister of Finance, Vice Minister of Internal Affairs, and Deputy Chairman of the National Bank. Prior to his appointment as Minister of Finance, he was Deputy Chairman of the Board at the Eurasian Development Bank.
Minister of Finance and Regional Development
In 2007, Baiseitov was appointed Minister of Finance by Presidential decree. During this tenure, he played a pivotal role in steering the country's financial policies. He subsequently held the position of Minister of Regional Development from 2013 to 2014.
Chairman of the Board, Bank of Development of Kazakhstan
In August 2014, Baiseitov assumed the role of Chairman of the Board at the Bank of Development of Kazakhstan. Under his leadership, the bank has supported numerous infrastructure and economic development projects across the country.
Honors and Affiliations
Baiseitov has been recognized for his contributions with the Order of Parasat and the "10 Years of Astana" Medal. He is also the Honorary President of the Kazakhstan National Speed Skating Federation.
Personal Life
Baiseitov is married to Batyla Zhamisheva. The couple has two sons, Daulet (born 1985) and Kuanyish (born 1989).
