Early Life and Education

Born into a working-class family in Kuibyshev (present-day Samara), Nikolai Sergeyevich Polivanov pursued his passion for literature from an early age. He graduated from the Kuibyshev Pedagogical Institute in 1932, where he laid the foundation for his future academic career.

Military Service and Awards

During World War II, Polivanov served his country with distinction, earning numerous accolades for his bravery. He was decorated with the Order of the Great Patriotic War (both first and second degree), the Order of the Red Star, and the Order of Friendship of Peoples, among other medals.
