Biography of Boris Borovsky

Boris Borovsky is a Soviet tennis player and sports journalist. He was born in Almaty and has been passionate about sports since his youth. In school, he started playing tennis and competed alongside Anna Dmitrieva. His coach was Nikolai Karakash.

In 1956, Borovsky won a gold medal at the first Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR. Two years later, he regularly joined the men's national team of the USSR. Throughout his career, Boris achieved numerous victories and podium finishes in national competitions, as well as participated in international tournaments.

From the late 1950s, Borovsky started exploring sports journalism. Initially, he prepared small materials and notes for various sports editorial offices of different media outlets and briefly collaborated with All-Union Radio. In 1962, he graduated from the Moscow Technological Institute of Food Industry.

From 1966 to 1989, Borovsky worked at the radio station "Yunost" and later collaborated with "Radio Russia" as a political commentator and then as a sports commentator. In 1998, Boris, along with a group of like-minded individuals, organized the country's first 24-hour sports radio and worked on it for two years. In the late 1990s, Boris began collaborating with the Russian version of Eurosport channels and soon became one of the regular tennis commentators on the channels. In the mid-2000s, he also worked on tennis broadcasts for the "Sport" TV channel.

Interesting Facts:
Borovsky is known as the first journalist to appear on Eurosport channels with commentary in the Russian language.
